Designed by the Office of General Affairs, the flag features a blue background, with the university emblem and name in white.

The final version of the university flag features a blue background with the university emblem and the university name, printed in red.

NCTU
The university flag, designed by Shan-Tung Lu and Po-Chen Wu, was adopted when NCTU was established in Taiwan in 1958. Its design was largely the same as that of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The flag featured a yellow emblem on a blue background, with the university’s Chinese name written across the top in white characters. The gear forming the rim of the emblem had 24 teeth. The three yellow horizontal stripes represented the campuses in Shanghai, Peking, and Tangshan, symbolizing their close relationship.
