The NCTU Flag

The flag was designed by two alumni, Mr. Shan-Tung Lu and Mr. Po-Chen Wu, in 1958. The figures were basically the same as those used by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The flag featured a yellow design over a blue field, and the Chinese name of the university was written across the top in regular white characters. There were 24 teeth in the gear that made up the rim of the university seal. The three yellow horizontal stripes represented the three campuses in Shanghai, Peking, and Tangshan, which indicated the close relationship among them (at that time, in mainland China, Xian Jiao Tong University had not been established yet).
